SUMMARY:Enriching Avian Welfare Through Foraging
DESCRIPTION:Presented by Lara Joseph & Dr. Jason Crean \nBirds have evolved to spend most of their days foraging so we need to provide these opportunities every day if we are to enhance their welfare. We also need to ensure we provide a diverse diet of whole food items to allow for enriching foraging experiences.  Many parrots experience boredom\, which can lead to behavioral challenges\, feather-destructive behaviors\, nesting behaviors\, and more. Foraging is an instinctive behavior and is often overlooked\, leaving birds prone to developing behavior issues. \nGood news!  We have figured out a way to do the workshop both in-person and virtually!  You can register and choose either option. \n>> CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFORMATION AND TO REGISTER << \nJoin us in this immersive and engaging foraging workshop dedicated to advancing your birds’ well-being. Whether you’re a bird lover\, caregiver\, trainer\, or anyone passionate about improving animal welfare\, this workshop offers a scientific approach to understanding and implementing effective foraging enrichment techniques. \nEvery bird needs to eat—but it’s about more than just nutrition. Learn how shaping and creating complexities in teaching your bird to forage for its food can prevent boredom\, modify behavioral concerns\, and significantly enrich its quality of life. \nBoth Lara Joseph\, professional animal trainer\, behavior consultant\, and owner of The Animal Behavior Center\, and Dr. Jason Crean\, biologist and avian nutrition expert\, will engage attendees with their detailed presentations and extensive experience in advancing avian welfare through foraging. \nDuring the workshop\, attendees will create their own foraging toy to take home made of natural components and safe stainless steel\, allowing them to put new enrichment ideas into practice immediately. Handouts will be provided to support ongoing enrichment efforts. \nThis workshop is a fantastic opportunity to network\, get your questions answered\, and leave with behavior-changing strategies through foraging concepts. Whether you’re just starting or a seasoned caregiver\, you’ll leave motivated to elevate your bird care to the next level. \nRegister today. Seating is limited to provide individualized attention. Come curious\, leave inspired! \nAttend in-person or virtually! \n>> CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFORMATION AND TO REGISTER <<
