For more than a decade, The Parrot Project has helped parrot caregivers and professionals turn the science of behavior and positive reinforcement into practical action. Led by Lara Joseph, a leader in parrot behavior, behavior change, training, and enrichment, this ongoing membership combines live, interactive learning with expert guidance, community discussion, feedback, and clear next steps. Members can ask questions, watch concepts being applied, and receive support as they implement what they learn.
Inside the private online learning hub and community, members receive monthly live Q&As with replays, Foraging Fridays, an evolving Current Focus with guided lessons and clear next actions, weekly batched feedback on member training videos, and a Learning Library that grows with the membership. The emphasis is not on collecting information. It is on applying it. The current focus is Target Training.

Members receive guidance on how to change their approach, teach alternative behaviors, respond earlier, reduce situations that set the bird up to bite, and build clearer communication through positive reinforcement training.
Can The Parrot Project help with parrot screaming?
Yes. Screaming is one of the most common behavior concerns people have with parrots, and it is often very responsive to a clear behavior-change plan. The Parrot Project helps members identify why screaming may be happening, what may be reinforcing it, and how to teach alternative behaviors through positive reinforcement training.
Does The Parrot Project include parrot enrichment and foraging ideas?
Yes. Enrichment and foraging are important areas of focus in The Parrot Project. We focus not only on teaching parrots how to forage, but also on why foraging matters, how enrichment can help address behavior concerns, and how to increase a parrot’s motivation to engage with its environment. The Parrot Project also includes enrichment and foraging group activities.
Can I get feedback on my parrot training?
Yes. The Parrot Project includes feedback on member training videos, live Q&A sessions, guided lessons, and community discussions. Members can share training questions and examples to receive practical guidance and next steps.
Is The Parrot Project the same as a one-on-one consultation?
No. A one-on-one consultation is best for immediate individualized help with a specific behavior concern. The Parrot Project is better for ongoing education, live Q&A, video feedback, enrichment ideas, engagement, and continued support.
